About Racine, WI

Racine sits on the shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Root River, about 22 miles south of Milwaukee and 60 miles north of Chicago. It counted 77,816 residents at the 2020 census, making it the fifth-most populous city in Wisconsin. The city has been a factory town almost from the start, and companies such as Case IH, Modine Manufacturing and S. C. Johnson and Son are based there.

The city has a warm-summer continental climate, with short summers and cold winters. Average snowfall is about 41 inches a year, and the record low reached 31 degrees below zero. Cold like that is hard on batteries, belts and fluids, and winter roads leave no room for weak brakes. A check before winter sets in is one of the best ways to avoid a breakdown.
